Out of the total vacancies advertised, 188 are reserved for female candidates. BPSC APO Selection Criteria 

The BPSC APO selection criteria consist of three stages.

  1. The first is the preliminary examination.
  2. Second is Mains examination
  3. The third is Interviews.

Prelims exam will only be qualifying in nature or in other words, is a screening test. That means, that the marks obtained in the prelims examination will not play any part in the final merit. But, the candidates will be selected for the mains exam on the basis of performance in the prelims exam.

BPSC APO Prelims Exam Pattern

The Bihar Assistant Prosecution Officer (APO) prelims exam will consist of two papers; paper 1 & paper 2. Below is the complete overview of the prelims exam pattern.

Prelims paper will be in both languages- Hindi and English.

Both papers 1 & 2 will have objective type questions, with 1 correct answer.

There will be negative marking in the prelims exam. 1/4th mark(s) dedicated to the attempted question will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Here is the BPSC APO Syllabus 2020 for prelims exam syllabus as per the official advertisement.

General Studies (Paper 1): In this paper, questions will be asked from topics and sections covering- General knowledge & Current affairs, General Science, Indian History & Culture, along with general questions covering Indian polity and governance.

Law (Paper 2): This paper will have questions covering the Indian penal code-1860, Indian Evidence Act- 1872, Code of Criminal Procedure-1973, and fundamental knowledge of the Indian Constitution.

The BPSC Assistant Prosecution Officer’s main exam will be of descriptive nature and will consist of 7 papers. The detailed pattern is given below.

Note:

It is compulsory for candidates to obtain minimum qualifying marks in Hindi and English papers to be considered for merit. But the marks of Hindi and English papers will not play any part in the preparation of final merit list.

APO Interview:

The third stage in this recruitment process will be interviewed. The interview stage will carry 100 marks.
